Doctoral School Day (JED)

Every year, PhD students, with the support of the doctoral school, work hard to promote meetings between PhD students from the different disciplines represented in the Society, Politics, Public Health Doctoral School (EDSP2) by organizing a day devoted to presenting their work. These Doctoral School days are a perfect opportunity to bring PhD students and their supervisors together in a way that is both educational and scientific and in a friendly atmosphere. The aim is to enhance collaboration and sharing of experiences and knowledge allowing everyone to familiarize themselves with multidisciplinary scientific approaches.

This day’s events are a key stage in the professional integration process that has to be the focus of every PhD project.

The day starts with a talk by a scientific figure on a broad theme that can be part of a transversal approach. It continues with presentations of theses (in 180 seconds), and of work by the PhD students, followed by discussions on professional integration, the aim being to provide advice and useful contacts for preparing the post-thesis stage (forum for professionals presenting their companies, professional networks, alumni networks, leads, addresses, useful links, etc.).

The Doctoral School Day forms part of the career training plan of PhD students. Attendance is compulsory.
