EDSP2 competitive exam
EDSP2 awards thesis funding via a competitive exam (11 doctoral contracts for academic year 2020/2021). The doctoral contract was created by the Decree of 23 April 2009. It is a three-year contract and provides all the social guarantees of an employment contract compliant with public law.
Criteria for admission
Applicants must hold a Masters degree or equivalent, they must not be currently working on a thesis, and must not already have an employment contract. There is no age limit, no limit to the date when the diploma will be obtained, and no conditions on nationality.

Preselection
A preselection based on application file will identify the candidates who will be asked to present their thesis project orally.
For each specialty of the doctoral school, applications are either preselected by the referent of the specialty according to a procedure that he/she defines with all the teachers-researchers of the specialty; or by the Scientific Advisory board of the ED (on the basis of objective criteria such as the candidate's background, grades and honors obtained, etc.) when the conditions for preselection by the referent are not fulfilled.
The role of the referent is also to give advice, at the request of the candidates, in the preparation of the application file as well as in the preparation of the audition for the selected candidates.
Preselection meeting
In any case, the Scientific Advisory Board (the Board and the representatives of the 3 main fields of the ED) and the speciality referents will meet on June 24 to deliberate on all the pre-rankings in order to select the candidates who will be auditioned (about 25 candidates).
Representatives of the 3 main fields of the ED :
Public Health : David-Alexandre Tregouët
Human Sciences : Eric Dugas
Political science : Antoine Roger
Interviews
The selected candidates are invited by email to attend an interview before a Jury.
The jury is composed of members of the EDSP2 Council or their representative. A PhD student is present as an observer alongside the jury.
The interviews will be held at the Sigalas Conference Room, Victoire Campus, Bordeaux.
The candidate may use a supporting ppt if he wishes, and the interview can be held in English at his request.

Finalization of the academic registration followed by the administrative registration
Finalization of the academic registration followed by the administrative registration

You must register in 1st year in ADUM (without going through the stage of submitting an academic application).
- For candidates ranked on the additional list (no funding offered) and who want to continue with their registration, you must register in 1st year in ADUM (without going through the stage of submitting an academic application).
- For candidates who were interviewed but were not ranked, and who want to continue with their registration, you must register in 1st year in ADUM (without going through the stage of submitting an academic application).
- For candidates who were not interviewed, make sure you make your intentions known. Your application file will be reexamined in the same way as applications from students not taking the EDSP2 competitive exam, but you will not have to re-submit an academic application.
